healing powers of the ocean

What is blueMind Ocean Therapy?

The ocean is composed of oxygen and hydrogen with a multitude of elements resulting in better health benefits for the human body and mind. The powerful magnetism of support offered from the ocean’s healing powers as a therapeutic modality for mental health and wellbeing is an opportunity for growth and healing. Accordingly, we have a blue mind and its perfectly tailored to make us happy in all sorts of ways that go far beyond relaxing in the surf.

Blue mind is deep down within us, it is a mildly meditative state characterised by calm, inspired by the waters elements. Humans are intrinsically connected with the ocean, and when in harmony we experience a profound psychological benefit that can elevate mood, reduce stress and improve faculties such as concentration, clear thinking and memory.

Our brains can ‘tune in’ to the frequencies of the ocean waves and when they do, it changes the patterns of our brainwaves, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, inducing a deeply meditate state that can heal and rejuvenate. As a result, research has shown significant drops in stress hormones when exposed to the sounds of the ocean, partly attributed to the actions of our biological stress messengers, catecholamine neurotransmitters, which operate at a lower level when exposed to certain sound rhythms, similar to how mediation works.
